LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The thriving market towns of Harleston and Bungay are only 3 miles from Bluebell cottage. These offer an old fashioned shopping experience, with many pubs, restaurants & cafes for you to enjoy.

Within 30 minutes are a number of other places that should not be missed during your stay. The city of Norwich with its beautiful historic cathedral has been voted one of the top ten shopping centres in England. Also the hugely popular towns of Southwold and Walberswick on the Suffolk coast and the unique Norfolk Broads are just as nearby.

Slightly further afield, the North Norfolk coast is only 40 miles away and Suffolk marvels such as Lavenham, Long Melford and Sutton Hoo a similar distance to the south.

There are excellent country pubs and restaurants very close by offering a range of dining and superb real ales to complete your holiday needs. The nearest pub and restaurant are less than a mile away and bikes can be provided should you fancy a relaxing drink at the end of the day!

Walking, Fishing & Birdwatching

The immediate area surrounding Bluebell Cottage offers superb walking, fishing and bird watching opportunities. The river Waveney is only 200m to the South with the North side of the valley rising gently up behind the farm to give marvellous views for miles East and West.

Numerous well stocked fishing lakes are available in the locality which, together with the river, offer diverse types of freshwater fishing. There are many footpaths and bridleways easily accessible from the cottage including the well known Angles Way.

The local countryside allows excellent bird watching. In addition to the varied water habitats of river, lakes and old flooded gravel pits, there are marshes, upland grassland and arable fields surrounded by mature hedges, and also woodland all within a couple of miles radius.
